Peter Haakon Thompson is an artist based in Minneapolis, Minnesota whose primary mediums are participation, interaction and conversation. Some of his works include: The A Project, co-founding a participatory, temporary community called The Art Shanty Projects, existing every winter on a frozen lake, Tent Services, a free service providing Expeditionary Conversation Tents for check out, Mobile Sign Shop—a pop-up, mobile, sign-making shop to engage neighbors in making, conversing and connecting multiple works related to table tennis. He just completed Flag Services by sewing flag portraits for neighbors to fly on vacant flagpoles. He earned a BFA from the California College of Arts and Crafts and MFA from the University of Minnesota. In his spare time he ties knots, hangs out with his six-year-old twins and plays table tennis.
