Look up, Lake

Look up, Lake is a flag making project by artist Peter Haakon Thompson taking place on Lake Street and funded by Lake St Lift

Look up, Lake hosted a series of public flag making workshops for community to share what they find important about Lake St. After conversations with Lake St stakeholders, I created 6 symbols to represent ideas about Lake Stret. At workshops participants selected up to 3 symbols that represented what they felt was most important about this place, arranged them on a pre-made blank flag and we sewed them on. Flags displayed here are some of the 180 flags that were made and visually communicate what your neighbors think about this amazing street! Use the key below to decode the flags.
